Hi,
We only have a short time to prepare for a "no dig" gardening workshop on
Saturday July 25 from 2-4:00 PM in Blue Hill. The workshop will be held at
the home of Susan and Parker Hudson. Directions: From the Blue Hill
Co-0p, go toward East Blue Hill ~ one half mile. It is a gray house on the
left #106. For more parking, go past the house a short distance to Peter's
cove and park.

We need to hear from you right away if you want to participate in the
workshop because space is limited to the first 15 who register. Pre-
registration is required. To register, contact Bob Jones at 664-6190 or bobjonesinnz at yahoo.com

We are non profit community project operating under Hancock Co Towns in Trasnsition. The cost is $10 plus any organic material you can bring and contribute to the garden. This will truly be a potluck garden.

We are committed to putting on additional workshops on August 8 and 22 in
local communities if there is sufficient demand

What we are going to do- You will learn how to build a vegetable garden on
top of existing soil, grass or weeds using a simple technique referred to as "no dig" gardening. This is done by adding layers of organic material which decomposes and becomes soil very similar to what occurs in nature. This is a "hands on" workshop, working with others to build a 4x12 ft garden bed. So come dressed in old clothes prepared to get a little dirty.

Our goals in offering these workshops are:
1. To teach you how to set up a garden easily so you will hopefully develop
or expand your own organic vegetable garden with a goal of becoming more
self sufficient re growing your own healthy food.
2. Encourage you to reach out to others in your own community to show them
how to use this technique and then to share garden produce with each other.
3. Help you connect with others in your community who share gardening
interests.

We hope to hear from you soon. It's great fun.
Bob Jones
