Dear friends, colleagues and students,

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!


I am excited to write to you about several new courses I am offering  
at the University of Maine Hutchinson Center in Belfast.  No musical  
training is necessary.

Would you please let me know if you can help me to print out, copy,  
post and circulate via email  (to your network of contacts) the  
attached and PDF information (listed below) about a concentration of  
music therapy courses that will soon begin at the Hutchinson Center. I  
apologize for the short notice. The first course on Music Therapy and  
Geriatric Populations begins on June 5th.

The courses  listed in the attachment are innovative offerings within  
Maine and the University of Maine system . These courses will be  
meaningful and relevant to students interested in geriatric issues,   
music, health professions, such as speech, physical and occupational  
therapy, nursing, psychology and counseling as well as education,  
special education and early childhood development. Students will have  
the opportunity to take one or more of the introductory level courses  
which will focus on;

1)  Music therapy in geriatric care with an emphasis on Alzheimer's,
2)  Music therapy for children with special needs with a focus on autism
3)  Music as interpersonal communication, self reflection and inner  
peace in conjunction with the UMO Peace Studies Program.
