Hi ALL -- MaineHEARTH update below. As always, please do not hesitate

12.11.09 *_Ellsworth_* 1:00pm-5:00pm: "Keep ME Warm" training at
University of Maine Cooperative Extension, Boggy Brook Road, Ellsworth.
FREE, but pre-registration required by calling 667-8212.
This annual effort is undergoing some major changes this year, which
will allow for a more efficient use of weatherizing materials by local
volunteer response teams who will once again install these items in
homes of income-eligible Mainers across the state throughout the coming
weeks and months.
This year's program features enhancements intended to provide broader
energy savings impact for Maine homes long term. One important example
is direct volunteer team access to customized window inserts.
This training will include:
* Heat loss training and hands-on weatherization training,
* How to accurately measure, order and install window inserts
* Customer service, including tips for working in someone's home
* How to order KMW weatherizing materials, and funding available by
All trainings are free, thanks to funding from Maine Housing. Trainings
will have a maximum of 50 participants. Trainings will be conductd by
Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers Maine staff and contracted trainers
including nationally renowned author and energy expert Charlie Wing, and
University of Maine Cooperative Extension Staff.
KMW program resources (windows and weatherizing materials) are free to
teams, are limited and will be allocated based on 2008 Low Income Home
Energy Assistance (LiHEAP) eligible residents per county. In order to
access the KMW program resources, at least one team member must attend
the training to learn how to measure, take orders, etc.
