Public Lecture, 7 pm, Reach Center, Deer Isle Wednesday, May 5, 2010

    Dr. David Ray Griffin, twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize  
(2008 and 2009), and ranked in September 2009 by Britain’s venerated  
New Statesman as #41 of “the 50 people who matter today,” will speak  
in at the Reach Center on Deer Isle at 7 pm, Wednesday, May 5th  on  
the legal and moral aspects of the war in Afghanistan.

Dr. Griffin is Professor of Philosophy of Religion and Theology,  
Emeritus, at Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Graduate  
University, and a co-director of the Center for Process Studies.

He is the author of 36 books, nine of which are on 9/11. His most  
complete statement about 9/11, The New Pearl Harbor Revisited, was a  
Publishers Weekly "Pick of the Week" in November 2008. His most  
recent book is The Mysterious Collapse of World Trade Center 7: Why  
the Final Official Report about 9/11 Is Unscientific and False.

Recently featured in major documentaries on Britain’s BBC and  
Canada’s CBC, Griffin is on a 15-city lecture tour of the mid-western  
and the northeastern United States (including southeastern Canada).   
In his own words:

"Whereas it is widely recognized that the US-led war in Afghanistan  
is illegal under international law, because it was never authorized  
by the UN Security Council, most Americans have believed that it was  
morally justified as a response to the 9/11 attacks, and many believe  
it is still justified as a necessary means to prevent another attack  
originating from that region.

“My lecture will present evidence showing that both of these beliefs  
are untrue, so that the 9/11 Truth Movement and more traditional  
Peace and Anti-War groups should be able to combine forces to oppose  
this illegal and immoral war."

Griffin, a philosopher of religion and theologian (with a heavy focus  
on the philosophy of science), has meticulously researched the  
various dimensions of the official account of 9/11 – most recently  
the collapse of WTC 7 – finding them all devoid of credibility.

Due to the carefulness and sweep of his writings, Griffin is widely  
considered the world’s leading critic of the official story about 9/11.
