"The siege of Gaza is going to get worse, and it is going to kill
innocent people. This kind of siege makes no distinction between
supporters of one political party or another. Having been to Iraq
during the sanctions era, I am concerned that in Gaza, as in Iraq,
the most vulnerable people in the society--- children, the elderly,
and the poorest of the poor will be the ones to pay the price while
caught in the crossfire." -- Tom Jackson
reminder: Tom Jackson (Joe Public Films, award-winning producer of
Greetings from Missile Street and Out of Balance ) was recently in
Gaza during the period of the GAZA FREEDOM MARCH, an international
demonstration in observance of the anniversary of Israel's brutal
military invasion of Gaza, December 2008 to January 2009
( www.joepublicfilms.com www.gazafreedommarch.org ).
Tom will talk about his recent work in Gaza in a program to bring
video production skills to youth, and what he has learned about the
experience of people living under siege.
BLUE HILL LIBRARY, 7:00 p.m., Friday February 26, sponsored by
Peninsula Peace & Justice.
