Hi All -- hope all are safe and power has been restored after this 
exciting weather weekend!

The *MARCH 2010* calendar will soon be posted to our website at

also be accessed online, which includes ongoing activities, support and 
workshops.   You'll find several opportunities for long-distance parent 
training & support groups online and via phone.  I would especially like 
to draw your attention to this online training.

*/NEW:/*  *_ONLINE_* (1 hour):  "Reducing the Risk of Sudden Infant 
Death Syndrome in Child Care" presented by American Academy of 
Pediatrics.  This FREE course is designed to educate everyone who cares 
for babies (child care prodders, parents, grandparents, relatives and 
health care professionals).  You will elarn how to create a safe sleep 
environment to reduce the risk of SIDS and other sleep related deaths.

3.02.10 *_Sullivan _*10:00am-11:30am:  Hancock County Children's Council 
presents "Mommy and ME" weekly group for Moms and their babies (newborn 
to one year) at the Sullivan Town Office, US Route 1, Sullivan.  
Facilitated by Jennifer Broughton, RN, Downeast Health Services Maternal 
& Child Health program, come meet other mothers (first-time or 
experienced) and their babies for  weekly fun and tips to develop 
healthy strong bonds between you and your new baby.  FMI, call Candy at

3.02.10 *_Ellsworth_* 9:30am-12:30pm (5 Tuesdays):  "Steps to Economic 
Security" presented at Hancock County Higher Education Center, 248 State 
Street, Suite 1, Ellsworth.  A FREE 15 hour, 5-session class followed by 
individual and group network meetings that guides existing business 
owners to set personal and business financial goals, and develop a plan 
to achieve greater economic security.  Pre-requisite:  a business plan 
and current business activity / sales.  FMI & registration, call 667-1834.

 

3.03.10 *_Sullivan_*:  9:30am-11:00am (4 Wednesdays):  "New Books New 
Readers" hosted by Sumner Adult Learning Center, US Route 1, Sullivan.  
New Books New Readers is a book discussion program for adults who are 
new readers, those who are not in the habit of reading, and anyone who 
is interested in joining a book discussion.  This class is idea for 
parents with young children.  Participants will receive 9 children's 
books on the topic of "Differences".    No one will be expected to read 
out loud.  Refreshments will be provided.  FMI & to register call

3.04.10 *_WEBINAR_* 8:30pm-10:00pm (5 week series):  "Consciously 
Repairing Relationships" will explore some of the basics for Consciously 
Repairing disconnection in relationships. Whether you are struggling 
with your toddler's unruly behaviors, you are concerned about the fact 
that you seem to be turning into your parents when you're stressed, or 
you are overwhelmed and don't know what to do to create connection in 
your relationship, this is the class for you. Topics include: (1) The 
keys to raising healthy children and parenting covenant; (2) Why we 
don't always act better when we know better, (3) The Shift -- Exiting 
the merry-go-round of negativity; (4) Repair as a way of life; and (5)

help you take the first steps.  The class covers the basis of a business 
plan, marketing, cash planning and is suitable for those thinking about
