The *February 2010* calendar will soon be posted to our website at 
www.downeasthealth.org.  The 16-page print version of this calendar may 
also be accessed online, which includes ongoing activities, support and 
workshops.   You'll find several opportunities for long-distance parent 
training & support groups online and via phone.

Below, you will find some activities to get you started.  Please do not 
hesitate to ask for a printable version of the complete calendar 
including recurring weekly & monthly events throughout our Downeast area.

Repairing Relationships" will explore some of the basics for Consciously 
Repairing disconnection in relationships. Whether you are struggling

that you seem to be turning into your parents when you're stressed, or 
you are overwhelmed and don't know what to do to create connection in

and Toddlers, Guidelines for Learning & Development" (30 hours,

Participants will use various tools and strategies to engage in 
observation, to conduct authentic assessment, and to plan curriculum for

Collaborative Problem Solving Approach with Ross Greene, PhD at the

relatives of challenging children to hear Dr. Greene explain the 
Collaborative Problem Solving Approach through lecture, video tapes and 
role play.  The emphasis will be on use of the approach, updates to the

calm center) of a hurricane and leave with strategies that can help you

Sedgwick Elementary School.  This training will help providers and 
parents become aware of potential environmental risks and support simple

2.19.10 *_Ellsworth_*:  "Give Kids a Smile®" event at Downeast Health 
Services, Maine Coast Community Dental Clinic, 52 Christian Ridge Road, 
Ellsworth.  On this special day, we will be providing 60 uninsured 
children with free x-rays, exams, and cleanings.  To be eligible for 
this event, children must be between the age of 1 and 13 with no form of 
dental insurance.  Call 667-0293 to reserve a spot. 

 

2.22.10 *_Ellsworth_* 6:00pm-8:00pm:  "Keeping Our Mind Sharp As We Age" 
presented by Sally Smith at Ellsworth High School. Does everyone forget 
more as we grow older?  What are specific strategies for keeping our 
mind sharp as we age?.  The program will provide tips for keeping our 
minds sharp and will also explain when memory loss can be the symptom of
