[HCCN] Help Bringing New Orleans Children to Maine Summer Camp

Dear Friends and Family:

Its that time of year again....to get Devan, Malik and Diamond Foy from New Orleans back up to Maine for an awesome session at summer camp.  


Thank you all who helped us raise the needed funds last year.   As you know, Devan, Malik and Diamond had an amazing time at Hidden Valley Camp.  It was tremendously beneficial to them to have a rural experience outside of New Orleans.  With potential disaster lurking in the Gulf Coast again at the moment, ensuring that they have this opportunity again feels tremendously important.


We need your help again this year.  We need to raise $1500 to cover the tremendously discounted admission costs for the three campers, airfare and camp supplies.  


You can also donate miles for plane tickets if you have a free trip.  We are looking for miles on American Airlines.


This year we also have a fiscal sponsor so that any contribution you make can be tax deductible.  Our fiscal sponsor is Resources Organizing for Social Change.  Please make checks out to ROSC and mark summer camp in the memo and send them to me

Hidden Valley Camp is located in Montville, Maine.  It is just five miles from the farm where I live and work.  The camp offers month long overnight experiences.  It is driven from a philosphy that the campers can create their own personal experiences based off of their interests.  Program areas include farming, land and water sports, dance, art, music recording, rock climbing, etc.
