We are happy to inform you that the common good cafe is now open on a regular basis, 7 days a week, from 8:30 to 7 PM. Our energetic young staff has whipped the place into shape, our new rug and book nook have been installed, our professional pizza oven is up and running and we have some great , wholesome, very reasonably priced food down there, with the same great view as always. So come on down and bring your friends and neighbors. Success of the cafe in the summer is the key to funding our winter soup programs. We are offering all CG volunteers discount cards good for 10% off on our primary food items. Come on down and pick up your card,  and bring your  friends and neighbors so they will see how delightful our food and ambience are down at Seawall. Full details below. The Common Good Café announces its opening Weekend!

We are serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 566 Seawall Road, 244-3007, in line with our mission we serve whole, natural, organic, local foods as much as possible. By following this philosophy, our menu is ever changing with a consistency in items but a variety of flavors and offerings developed by our creative, culinary savvy staff.

            Our breakfast bar ($6.99) includes a granola made in house, whole grain hot and cold cereals, fresh, wholesome breads from an island bakery,  whole milk and free range eggs (hard boiled) provided by local farmers, fresh fruit and all natural orange juice.  A local pastry chef makes fresh pastries ($2.50) for our café using Maine fruit whenever possible, which are sold throughout the day.

This  memorial day weekend for lunch and dinner we are offering a soup buffet, seafood and vegetable sushi, vegan and seafood soft spring rolls, vegan, fresh grain and seafood salads and 12-inch pizzas.

·       Common Good Café Bowl ($5 for lunch, $7 for dinner) - all you can eat soup buffet, includes bread

·       Sushi - carrot ginger roll ($6), cucumber sesame roll ($6), California roll with local crabmeat, avocado and Smith Family Farm garlic chive soft cheese ($10)

·       Soft Spring Rolls - scallop/shrimp and vegetable roll ($8), tofu and vegetable roll ($6); both served with either miso sesame sauce or peanut lime sauce

·       Salads - vegan orzo and long grain rice salad ($6), vegan white bean salad ($6), seafood spring roll salad with miso sesame dressing ($11), tofu spring roll with peanut lime dressing ($8)

·       12-inch Pizzas -sauce, mozzarella cheese and two regular toppings ($12). Toppings include onions, green peppers, garlic, fresh basil, spinach, sorrel (extra are $1 each); specialty toppings include feta cheese ($1.50), plain and Smith Family Farm garlic chive soft cheese ($1.50), local shrimp ($2).

·       Our Pizza toppings, soup, and salad ingredients, , wrap and roll  fillings will be changing as the local food source dictates.  Come on in and be surprised by something new and yummy on our menu!

Our café is a for-profit business, which is a subsidiary of The Common Good Soup Kitchen. All Cafe Profits go to the soup kitchen for support of its winter and soup delivery programs. The Soup Kitchen will be providing free coffee, tea and Wi-Fi and accepting donations throughout the season.

We are located at 566 Seawall Road, Southwest Harbor, ME (the former Annabell's Seawall Dining Room).
