Dear War Tax Resisters and War Tax Resistance Supporters in Maine,
You are invited to attend the annual Maine statewide workshop and
gathering of war tax resisters and supporters on Saturday, February
12th, 2011, at the Maine Equal Justice Project office, 126 Sewall
St., Augusta, Maine. In case of bad weather on February 12th, call
525-7776 before 7:30 am or, preferably, the previous evening to see
if the meeting is postponed to the snow date of February 13th, same
time and place. Whether you are interested in beginning war tax
resistance, have been or are a resister, or want to learn more about
how to do it, this meeting will provide information and help you
decide what new directions and actions you can take.
The morning session (10 AM-noon) will have two concurrent workshops,
one for people new to war tax resistance, those considering it, and
those just wanting more information, and one for more experienced
resisters.
Lunch will follow from 12-1 (bring food to share for a potluck,
kitchen not available, so don't expect a stove to heat food up).
The afternoon session (1-3 PM) will primarily focus on Tax Day
activities on or before April 15 and how to promote WTR in this
atmosphere of endless war. We will also discuss connections to
national WTR campaigns and to Maine’s Bring Our War $$ Home campaign.
If you cannot attend this meeting but want to support war tax
resistance work in Maine, or if you want more information on the how-
to's or rewards and possible consequences of war tax resistance,
contact Larry Dansinger at the Resource Center. Also, please let
Larry know if you DO NOT want to continue to receive WTR e/mailings.
The Maine WTR Resource Center needs financial support to continue its
work. Please send contributions to:
