Dear War Tax Resisters and War Tax Resistance Supporters in Maine,

You are invited to attend the annual Maine statewide workshop and
gathering of war tax resisters and supporters on Saturday, February
12th, 2011, at the Maine Equal Justice Project office, 126 Sewall
St., Augusta, Maine. See the attached flyer for a schedule and other
details. In case of bad weather on February 12th, call 525-7776
before 8 am or the previous evening to see if the meeting is
postponed to the snow date of February 13th, same time and place.
Whether you are interested in beginning war tax resistance, have been
or are a resister, or want to learn more about how to do it, this
meeting will provide information and help you decide what new
directions and actions you can take.

Directions to Maine Equal Justice - From I - 95 (from south or north
or west)

Take Exit 109A Augusta. On the ramp there is a fork, bear right
(Augusta) onto Western Avenue. (From Lewiston/Winthrop, take Route
202 into Augusta, where it becomes Western Avenue.) Take Western
Avenue to the 4th set of traffic lights (the Armory will be on your
left and Fire Station on your right) and turn right onto Armory
Street. Armory Street swings to the left around a big corner and
turns into Capitol Street. Go down the hill on Capitol St. to the
traffic light at the intersection with Sewall Street. You will see
the State House with the Dome. Go right on Sewell St. down to MEJP at
126 Sewall, right hand side, grey house.

Directions to Maine Equal Justice - From the East (Route 3/Belfast
or Rt. 17/Rockland or Rt. 27/Wiscasset) Take Route 3 or 17 or 27 to
Cony Traffic Circle in Augusta on east side of Kennebec River. Go
from the circle onto the Memorial Bridge (just after Border Trust on
the circle) to traffic circle on other side. Continue straight
through the circle onto Western Avenue (four lanes). Take Western for
two short blocks to the first traffic light (Sewall St., federal
building on left side, Flo’s flowers on the right). Turn left, go one
long block thru another light, then look for 126 Sewall St. on the
right.
For carpooling or questions, contact Larry
Dansinger at 525-7776 or rosc at psouth.net.

The morning session (10 AM-noon) will have two concurrent workshops,
one for people new to war tax resistance, those considering it, and
those just wanting more information, and one for more experienced
resisters.
Lunch will follow from 12-1 (bring food to share for a potluck,
kitchen is available).
The afternoon session (1-3 PM) will primarily focus on Tax Day
activities on or before April 15 and how to promote WTR in this
atmosphere of war. We will also discuss connections to national WTR
campaigns and to Maine’s Bring Our War $$ Home campaign.

If you cannot attend this meeting but want to support war tax
resistance work in Maine, or if you want more information on the how-
to's or rewards and possible consequences of war tax resistance,
contact Larry Dansinger at the Resource Center. Also, please let
Larry know if you DO NOT want to continue to receive WTR e/mailings.
IF YOU GET THIS BY MAIL AND WANT TO RECEIVE THIS INFORMATION BY EMAIL
IN THE FUTURE, JUST SEND A NOTICE TO rosc at psouth.net.
