The film PHIL OCHS: THERE BUT FOR FORTUNE will be shown on Friday September
30, 7 p.m., at Blue Hill Library. A documentary of the life of legendary
folksinger Phil Ochs, the film tells the story of the turbulent era of the
Sixties that continues to resonate today and has been hailed by reviewers as
³enthralling, fascinating, essential². Ochs was one of the more famous
protest singers during the times of national unrest marked by the
assassinations of the Kennedy brothers and Martin Luther King, Jr., and the
escalation of the Vietnam War. Featuring interviews with Joan Baez, Sean
Penn, Pete Seeger and others, the film is presented by Peninsula Peace &
Justice as part of its Fall Film Series. All are welcome, info: 326-4405.
