Please pass this on to others in your group or area. Thanks.

While many of you are not very close to Portland, a community space
like the Meg Perry Center would be beneficial for all working for
progressive change in Maine. It takes effort to maintain, but a
similar space in many other communities would be a great resource, as
the Peace and Justice Center in Bangor has demonstrated.

> Hello fellow Occupiers and others,
> I'm writing to you today about a space that many of you might know
> about: The Meg Perry Center. The center has been a space for social
> justice and grassroots organizing in Portland for a number of years,
> as it was an incubator space for Portland Food Co-op, Central
> Latino, Local Sprouts, and many others.
> The space is in trouble!
> In the past few months, many things have threatened the security of
> this community space. The landlord does not want to sign a year
> lease with us, which has led to our renters moving out. In the same
> time span, the majority of the board members have left.
> With new board members including Alex Briggs, William Hessian,
> myself, and a few other Occupiers you might know, we are working
> hard to restore the space! A new energy has begun to rise up, and we
> are hopeful that we can turn the space around!!
> Would you help us?
> You can donate to us through this Indiegogo, or become a member! A
> six-month membership is just $20, and it includes many perks! You
> can attend events for a reduced cost or even for free, as well as
> use the space to organize the space, or rent the space for a reduced
> rate! Most importantly, you will help us continue to Make Positive
> Change in the community!!
> Will you go to this link and support us?

> On the page, you can watch a video about the positive impact the
> center has had. Even if you can't support monetarily, please forward
> this email and the donation page to your fellow activists!!
> If you have any questions, feel free to email me!
> In cheer and solidarity, Kara
