Several thousand people converged at Bath Iron Works last Saturday to celebrate the christening of the USS Zumwalt Naval Destroyer.
About 100 people lined the sidewalks at the BIW entrance to stand in witness of the tragic irony of blessing a weapon of mass destruction.

The purpose of the rally was not only to protest the spending of another $4billion on militarization, but to illustrate alternative, human-friendly, job-creating possibilities for BIW, if converted to more positive uses.
