> Dear Friends in Peace,
>
> As we approach Veterans Day/Armistice Day this year, one thing is troublingly clear - we are a nation that will be entrenched in war for the foreseeable future. In some ways, it may feel that we have moved the clock back, and that our efforts towards peace in our world have been laid waste. Some may also feel that in the wake of this last election, moving toward peace will be even more challenging.
>
> In light of all this, it is even more important, if not urgent, that those of us who believe in peace provide a presence in this year's Bangor-Brewer Veterans Day Parade. Those who come to view this annual parade need to see that there are those, just like them, who believe in peaceful, not militaristic, resolution to conflict in the world.
>
> Whether you are a Veterans For Peace member or associate member, or a veteran non-member, or a Veterans For Peace supporter, or just someone who believes in peace, please join us and be a presence for peace to the people of central Maine. The parade begins at 10:30AM, Tuesday, November 11th, 2014 at the Brewer Hannaford parking lot on Wilson Avenue in Brewer. Look for our Veterans For Peace, black on white flag. If you cannot join us at the beginning of the parade, join us anywhere along the way (Wilson Street, Brewer, to Main Street, Bangor, to Exchange Street, Bangor). We will have our "Supporters of Veterans For Peace" banner with us to identify those important participants. Please invite your friends, also!
