On July 19, Maine Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program [VLMP] will conduct a free workshop, Introductory Invasive Plant Patrol 101, at the Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery [CBNFH], 306 Hatchery Rd., East Orland starting at 10:30 am. Associations of Alamoosook Lake, Branch Lake, Green Lake and Toddy Pond invite concerned community members to join in the effort to protect area lakes from the spread of invasive aquatic plants. CBNFH and Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District are collaborating with the lake associations to sponsor this event. Because the invasion of aquatic plants in Maine lakes is a growing problem state-wide it is crucial that citizens get trained and take action.

Pre-registration is required. Please contact the Maine Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program at vlmp at mainevlmp.org or (207) 783-7733 to register. For on-line registration and workshop schedule updates please visit www.mainevolunteerlakemonitors.org/workshops.
