Let Cuba Live and the Brunswick-Trinidad Sister City Association will host the event at the park on Brunswick's Maine Street. There will be speeches by participating "carvanistas", Cuban music , Cuban cookies and lemonada. The celebration is open to all. The function room at 55 Plus at the corner of Maine and Noble Streets has been reserved in case of rain.</font></div><div><font face="Arial" size="+3"><br></font></div><div><font face="Arial" size="+3">The Brunswick event is part of an international effort initiated by Pastors for Peace, a branch of IFCO, a 42-year old, New York city based, ecumenical agency. Over 130 volunteers from the US, Canada and Europe will challenge the US blockade and travel restrictions against Cuba at the US - Mexico border on July 22nd. The organization expects to collect 100 tons of humanitarian aid during a two-week caravan that will converge in McAllen, Texas before traveling on to Cuba. Pastors for Peace and the supporting organizations are committed to delivering school buses, construction tools and materials, educational supplies, medicines, and medical supplies gathered in communities throughout the US and Canada, to Cuba, without US treasury department licenses.</font></div><div><font face="Arial" size="+3"><br></font></div><div><font face="Arial" size="+3">Pastors for Peace rejects the current licensing system as both immoral and illegal. It is immoral because it inflicts suffering and endangers lives of Cubans. In 2008 three hurricanes devastated the island.
