Thanks to Dan Ellis and Tom Whitney for their help.</div><div> </div><div>Wanted to remind you all that the walk begins in Bethel on March 24 and leaves our state on April 1. It would be very helpful if you could let me know ASAP if you plan to walk - even if it is just for a day along the way.</div><div><font face="Arial"></font> </div><div>We would also appreciate it if you would help us<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><strong>spread the word</strong><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>about the walk, especially if you live near the walk route. We are hearing from some students that intend to join the walk so the more outreach we do the more likely that we are able to provide some young people a tremendous opportunity for a great experience.</div><div><em></em> </div><div>The walk will be<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><strong>led by</strong><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Buddhist monk Rev. Gyoway Kato who is with the<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><a href="http://www.shishido.com/Myohoji-2/Myohoji/Update/index.htm" target="_blank">Nipponzan Myohoji<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></a>order that does peace walks all over the world. He is based in Leverett, MA. <div> </div><div>If you've never done a walk before you won't want to miss the experience. If you have walked before I know you will be itching to listen to the drum and the chanting again from behind the monks and nuns. The best part though will be witnessing how ordinary people along the way will be touched by this peace walk.<br></div><div>The walk will begin in Burlington, Vt on March 20 and enter Maine on March 24. From Maine the walk will head south and arrive in New York City in time for the international peace conference and rally on May 1-2 that will call on the nuclear powers to honor the UN's Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) that demands that all nuclear nations disarm.
