It's been 47 years since the passage of the Equal Pay Act, and yet, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, <strong><b><font>women, on average, make only 77 cents for every dollar earned by men.</font></b></strong> <a href="http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=X%2F%2F1Kr9VwUoDx9mtozmvWJcKBmJKXVn6">The figures are even worse for women of color. </a><br> <br> The House already passed this legislation, and the Senate is scheduled to vote on it as soon as November 17! We are very close to passage in this Congress, but we may not get another chance to finally close the wage gap for a very long time.
