Here's an after-dinner exercise for you.

Below is a list of Hancock Country's ten school unions and independent
municipal school departments and the number of students in each.

Just for fun, try adding them up different ways to meet the 2500
student minimum that the Legislature's Appropriations Committee will
be setting as a minimum.  Total number of students is 7276, so you
need to come up with no more than three districts.

Extra credit given for configurations that save substantially in
transportation costs, fuel oil, operation of facilities, and special
education.
