I was quite shocked with the article in Sat's paper concerning the
$74 million shortfall. With all the controversy with school
consolidation now the administration wants to withhold $17 million
from next years aid to education. They say for only one year. Is this
like the year the teacher's retirement fund was shorted and has never
been made up. Another broken promise by the state to education to
fund 55% of education. The message to the educators, parents, tax
payers and especially to the youth of our state is that education
isn't important. Is that the message we want to send. With all of the
spending bills that have been passed or will come up to bond votes
they should have been dropped instead of breaking your obligation to
K-12 education.
	Thank you for listening,
	David Renault
