DoE this morning released a compilation of the Commissioner's
responses to the December 1st submissions.
You can read the press release here:
http://www.maine.gov/tools/whatsnew/index.php?topic=DOENews&id=47348&v=article
You can see a table that I built from their data here:
http://mdischools.net/20071220_DoE_ResponsesSummary.htm
In the table, the plans that the Commissioner ruled as non-complying
are highlighted.
Note that, while MDI's plan was rejected on account of its model for
governance, MDI is counted toward the 85% overall state-wide
compliance rate as our geographical configuration was accepted.
While the Department's notes in the press release that 85% of the
configurations are in compliance, that synopsis should be tempered
substantially by the fact that not a single plan submitted under this
law -- either reorganization or alternative -- was approved at the
statutory deadline.
In the two right columns, I've listed the legislators in all the
non-conforming units -- as well as keyed in the Education Committee
members at their respective constituencies.
