Greetings all,

Thank you, Dick for setting up this list-serv.

Just want to make sure that those of you who are following closely the
matter of the public hearing in Augusta tomorrow get a chance to
review the summary of the various current school proposals that I've
put up at:

While the Governor's proposal certainly serves well as a lightning rod
for anger, it may serve us well to respond positively to aspects of
the alternatives.  Note that several of the alternatives have the real
distinction of maintaining local school control.

>From Augusta, I've been gratified to hear from both Senate Majority
Leader Libby Mitchell and Senator Peggy Rotundo that they find our
website useful.  Senator Mitchell in particular said that she'd make
sure that all the committee members reviewed our site before the
hearing.

So they all are aware of us and our interest here on MDI at this point.

I'll be at the hearing tomorrow.  Hope to see a fair number of you there also.
