[Local-Maine-Schools] Vote in House (response from Bob Bouchard

The Rural Caucus did not get what they wanted. Leadership got their way
completely. It is the Appropriations Bill with the penalties lessened
(half of admin, half of minimum subsidy) as well as a few other small
changes. The timeline does not require a vote in January. Unions did
not survive. Budget validation is still in.

Subject: Vote in House

Hi

Just an update on what little I know. The House voted to pass the
consolidation plan as an amendment put in by Rep. Fisher. I have not
seen the language, but depending on who you talk to, it has what the
Rural Caucus had for concerns or it did not. I don't know if Unions
survived or not. It will now go to the Senate for a vote.

I will not be there today. I am not feeling well and plan to stay home.
Terry Comeau, Supt of Southern Aroostock, will be there all day. I
will stay in touch with him. I will let you know more when I know more.

Dick
