[Local-Maine-Schools] petition letter -- maybe

What is interesting -- and somewhat disconcerting -- is that in the Bar
Harbor Times, both of the URLs (web-addresses) for the petition were
omitted from the letter in the paper, though they show up clearly (even
as links) in the web-version of the letter at

http://www.mainecoastnow.com/articles/2007/05/10/bar_harbor_times/letters_and_editorials/letters/doc4641cbaea7860417544173.txt

This, of course, renders the letter virtually useless. Editor Greg Fish
is completely puzzled by that. He says it's the first time such a thing
has happened, that URLs appear all the time in letters. He's very
apologetic, and says he'll run a correction in next week's paper.

In any case, the URLs appeared clearly in the MDIslander version of the
letters.

Bottom line is, don't rely on the papers to spread the word -- DO IT
YOURSELF! PLEASE. Especially if you know people in other parts of the
state.
