I'd like to call attention to Hannah Pingree's letter in Friday's Bangor Daily News congratulating the Bangor area legislative delegation on their hard and successful work in resolving the issues that led to a work stoppage at the Penn National site in Bangor. Hannah said, "I wanted to make sure the Bangor community knows how hard your local legislators worked to ensure the project moves forward. Members of legislative leadership and the Appropriations Committee were met with a nonstop barrage of impassioned lobbying from the legislators representing Bangor." She says the legislators "worked tirelessly" to successfully get workers back on the job.
I'll happily be the one to pen just such a congratulatory letter for our regional legislators if we can look back on the forced school consolidation matter and see that they worked for their communities' schools with the same passion, tenacity and success. Nothing short of that is acceptable.
