[Local-Maine-Schools] votes

The “Consolidation Bill” changes every day. Why would a legislator
vote to make a law out of language which is so fluid that even the
Commissioner of Education cannot give details? To vote “yes” for such
a bill would be wrong.

The “Consolidation Bill” takes the designated state minimum per
pupil amount and makes it into a maximum. Why would a legislator vote
to do this? To vote “yes” for such a bill makes no sense.

The “Consolidation Bill” does not allow a community to override that
minimum amount, does not allow a community to vote that its own money
serve its own children. Why would anyone vote this into law? To vote
“yes” for a bill containing this clause would be immoral.

Legislators who vote for the “Consolidation Bill” - wrongly,
senselessly, immorally - must realize that we - those who understand
exactly what is going on - can never vote for them again.

Very Sincerely,
Cynthia Sakovics Brotzman
