As the 7th item of unfinished business, LD 2280 is again on today's
House calendar.

The minority report on LD 2280 will be the vehicle for the repeal
vote. Rich Hewett's article in today's BDN reports on the prospects.

The administration has submitted its own bill to replace LD 1932.
While the text of this does not appear to be published yet, it is said
to contain the three Governor-sanctioned "fixes" to the school law,
i.e. a provision for locally developed cost-sharing formulas for the
extra-local, over-EPS spending within an RSU, the repeal of the 2 mil
minimum tax effort.
This bill is reported expected to go directly to the House rather than
coming through the Education Committee.
Another proposal, this one from Senator Rosen, is floated more
publicly (along with a rehash of administration talking points) in an
editorial in today's Bangor Daily News.
