[Local-Maine-Schools] Collecting signatures, July 4th weekend

Goos afternoon everyone,

I just received an e-mail from Lynne Williams of Bar Harbor telling me about several people who are still collecting signatures.  An idea just flashed through my mind.  With the upcoming July 4th weekend with all the parades, events, and cookouts, would you be willing to collect signatures one more time?

We have 50771 signatures as I last reported.  Dick Dyer is certain that his collectors will turn in over 1000 signatures this week.  So, we are rapidly approaching 52000 signatures-  just 3087 short of the necessary number to file and about 8000 short if we reach out for 60000 signatures to make sure we have enough.

In Stonington, we have a Fish Fry on the fish pier every July 4th afternoon
to raise scholarship money to give to our students going off to college.  That runs from 3 to 9 PM when the fireworks start.  There will be a whole lot of people not only from from the Island, but from many places in Maine.
I am going to have a petition for Deer Isle and a petition for Stonington and collect all the signatures which we have not collected already.  I am also going to have extra petitions for people who are resident in other Maine
towns.  SIGN THEM ALL UP!!!!!!!!!

Phil St. Onge and Keith Cook are making arrangements to have signatures collected in Winslow where there is expected up to 30,000 coming for
their July 4th celebration.  We could all make signs and hang them on our backs advertising that we are collecting signatures to repeal the school consolidation law.  WHAT A WAY TO ADVERTISE!!!!!!!

Now, how many of you are willing to collect signatures this weekend at parades, events, cookouts, or whereever people are gathered?  If you have extra petitions, ask people who are not resident in your town to sign them.  Please get your signatures notarized and send the petitions to me. 
I shall take responsibility for sending the petiions to the appropriate town or city and have the signatures verified.  IS THAT A DEAL OR WHAT?

THAT IT WAS THE TIME WHEN WE COLLECTED ENOUGH SIGNATURES TO REACH OUR GOAL OF 55087.
