<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I do not have a lot of returns yet. I know
about the collection of about 4287 signatures, which does not include Portland
or Lewiston. I collected 60 signatures in Bangor at the Community Center
while Pat Sirois collected 245 at the Civic Center. I have not seen any
figures, but I suspect that turnout was very low, maybe even low in the 1st
Congressional District. The turnout in Bangor was pathetic. So I
suspect we have some more work to do to get us to 60000. I have asked Dick
Dyer </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>to keep his collectors working.</FONT></DIV>
