You’ll find education and support opportunities offered through Downeast Health Services on the first page.   Other training opportunities are listed by date, followed by recurring weekly, bi-weekly, monthly  playgroups, support & online educational resources.   An 11-page pdf printable copy may be downloaded from the website or requested via email.

Weekly Group begins January 18th

1.18.11 Ellsworth 5:30pm-7:30pm:  Downeast Children’s Council presents a FREE 5 week series “Guiding Good Choices” program for parents of children ages 9-14 at Downeast Health Services, 52 Christian Ridge Road, Ellsworth.  Call Candy at 667-5304 ext. 261 FMI.  Minimum

5 – maximum 12 parents.  Pre-registration

by January 11th required.  By sharing

healthy beliefs with children and setting clear guidelines for behavior, parents help children make healthy choices in a complicated world.

FAMILY SUPPORT, EDUCATION & WORKSHOPS

 1.03.11 Sullivan 6:30pm: “Good Night Good Books” story-time at Frenchmen’s Bay Library; call 422-2307 FMI Children are welcome to come in their pajamas for stories read by the librarians and a special community reader. There are also healthy snacks to be had, and a goodnight game or song. Children need to be accompanied by at least one adult. If that Monday is local school snow day, the Library will also be closed.

The WinterKids FunPass offers Maine children in preschool through 4th grade the chance to try cross country skiing and snowshoeing for free! Each FunPass is good for three visits to each of the participating cross country ski areas listed, and signing up is easy:
