Documentary Film Eyewitness Gaza on Feb. 24
BLUE HILL–Tom Jackson’s 2010 documentary film EYEWITNESS GAZA focuses on how Palestinian youth survive Israel’s siege on Gaza. The director will present his film at the Blue Hill Library at 7 p.m. on Feb. 24. Jackson spent five weeks in Gaza in 2010, conducting interviews and teaching video production basics through the American Friends Service Committee’s (AFSC) youth program.
Eyewitness Gaza explores the life for Palestinians under constant threat from Israel as well as the challenges created by factional divisions within the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Within this context, the film tells the story of AFSC’s Popular Achievement program for Palestinian youth. Previous films by Tom Jackson include Greetings from Missile Street and Out of Balance: Exxon Mobil’s Impact on Climate Change. Peninsula Peace & Justice is sponsoring Tom Jackson’s visit. All are welcome. Info: 326-4405.
