Field of Flags, Blue Hill, July 14

Peninsula Peace & Justice is scheduling a day for the mowing of the Field of Flags: Saturday July 14th at 10:00 a.m. (with a rain date of Sunday July 15th at 9:00 a.m.)

Many hands are needed to pull the flags (5000+), mow the grass, and replant the flags.
Typically if there are at least 12-15 people, the task can be accomplished in two hours or a little more.
Please plan to come and help if you can. Bring gloves, a water bottle and a grass rake.
Two people will have lawnmowers and will mow the field while others are pulling up the flags.
People are also needed to tend to the new plantings of flowers. Bring garden hand tools, mulch, compost, jugs of water for watering; also transplants  if you have them and a shovel.
The Iraq War Dead Memorial Field of Flags has occupied this spot in Blue Hill since 2005. Everyone is invited to participate.
