Film: “The Gatekeepers” to show in Blue Hill

BLUE HILL – Peninsula Peace & Justice will screen The Gatekeepers at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 31, at Blue Hill Public Library.

The 2013 award-winning documentary offers an unprecedented look inside Israel’s Secret Service, featuring interviews with six former heads of the Shin Bet.

For the first time ever, the six share insights and reflect publicly on their actions and decisions, telling stories out of school about secret operations, the cultivation of informers, interrogation techniques, targeted assassinations, what worked and didn’t, and the dilemmas posed by the Israeli far-right.

The film has been nominated for an Academy Award. One reviewer called it a “hot, provocative, revelatory and astonishing documentary.”

Free and open to the public. For info, call 326-4405.
