Subject: Please support the Auburn Train Blockade Legal Defense Fund

This summer a group of Maine activists came together to resist the extraction and transportation of fracked crude oil coming from the Bakken oil fields of North Dakota.
Our resistance resulted in the arrests of eight people–five in Fairfield and three in Auburn. Charges for the Fairfield action were dismissed. Trails for Auburn arrestees are scheduled for January.
We are a completely unfunded, grassroots, community effort, and we need your help to cover the legal fees our group has accrued. Two ways you can help:
     (1) make a donation to the Auburn Train Blockade Legal Fund and
     (2) join us for a community fundraising dinner in Lewiston on December 9 from 6 to 8 pm at the Nutrition Center of Maine (93 Campus Ave.). We will share a meal together and discuss our campaign to resist fossil fuels in Maine. You are also invited to attend the trials of Jesse and Doug on the morning of January 14, at the Androscoggin County Superior Court.
Thank you in advance for your support!
In solidarity,

Heidi Brugger
