IRV meeting Feb 5, 2 pm, Ellsworth

Instant Runoff Voting?

The League of Women Voters is sponsoring a public informational meeting on Instant Runoff Voting on Saturday, February 5, at 2 pm, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 121 Bucksport Road, Ellsworth.   Terry Bouricius, a senior policy analyst for FairVote and expert on IRV, is the featured speaker.  Terry is a former five-term member of the Vermont House of Representatives and is an active member of the League of Women Voters.   The League of Women Voters in Maine is studying whether or not to endorse Instant Runoff Voting as an alternative voting system in state and local elections.   The public is cordially invited to attend this meeting to learn about the history and current use of IRV.  A Q&A session will follow the presentation.    For more information, phone 667-5863.
