Local Food Rules Meeting Saturday
Local Food Rules Monthly Finger Food Potluck and Meeting will be on Saturday, April 28, from 1-3 pm at Peninsula Metaphoric Arts and Learning (PMAL). We will show the film Food Rules, a play created by PMAL’s own Small Change Theatre Group and filmed two years ago at the town park in Blue Hill. This performance art piece explores the issues around access to local foods. There is beautiful, original music, the powerful dance of resistance, and an astonishing amount of information compiled in this creative, local theater piece co-directed by Margot Newkirk and Amy Grant. We will also hear an up-date on the lawsuit against Dan Brown, and reports from the rally and march in Augusta and the showings of You Wanted to Be a Farmer from across the state. Please bring finger food to share (no nuts, please). Membership in the group is on a sliding scale of $2.00 to $10.00; you can join at the meeting. There is a $5.00 suggested donation to cover the facility rental. All are welcome. Information on PMAL and their fabulous facility is at http://www.pmalcenter.com; click on contact us for directions.
