Marriage equality in Maine

In November, Maine can become the first state in the nation to have a popular vote support civil marriages for gays and lesbians. Much work remains to be done for that to happen. One important goal has been to form Speakers’ Bureaus throughout the state with a pool of speakers available to follow a carefully prepared format and talk to every small local group willing to listen. Penobscot and Washington Counties have bureaus; we are struggling to get one afloat in Hancock County. We need more people willing to be trained and we need more venues, including clubs, churches, businesses, social groups, etc. One training is set for March 31st at the Ellsworth UU Church. More will follow. Please let me know if you can help in any way. Thanks, Laurie Fogelman
