Peninsula Peace & Justice
MIC CHECK Blue Hill !
Peninsula Peace and Justice will offer a chance to hear from young people actively involved in the Occupy Wall Street movement, through a panel discussion called “MIC CHECK BLUE HILL! Voices from the Occupation Encampments,” at the Blue Hill Public Library on Friday, January 27. Panelists will include recent residents at occupations in Washington, Boston, New York, and Bangor. Major urban occupations have taken place in larger American cities since mid-September, and this evening is an opportunity to hear how it impacted those people who joined in the occupations.
Beginning at 7 pm, panelists will share their first-person experience to tell how they participated in the encampment, what the culture and spirit were like, how people and daily life worked, how decisions were made, how moods were expressed, and how that changed over time. A Q&A will follow, in which others may share their own experiences within the activities of any related occupation.
Refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome to this free event. For information, contact: 664-0742
