Executive Director of The Next Step Domestic Violence Project
We are currently seeking a committed, caring individual to help guide The Next Step Domestic Violence Project as head of the administrative team. The Next Step provides the full range of domestic violence prevention services both to people who lives have been directly affected and to our communities in Hancock and Washington Counties, Maine. The executive director reports to the Board and has ultimate staff responsibility for the quality of all program services and the administration and the development of The Next Step. Applicants must be able to travel quite extensively, work well individually and as a part of a team, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently. Effective oral, written, and listening skills are vital. This person will both assume and delegate responsibility, and demonstrate such personal qualifications as initiative, sound judgment, assertiveness, creativity and dependability. This is a salaried position that will require extremely flexible working hours.
A Bachelor’s Degree and five to seven years of progressive administrative experience is required. A Master’s Degree is preferred with demonstrated supervisory and financial management experience as well as sensitivity to issues related to domestic abuse.
