The film, Park Avenue: Money, Power, and the American Dream , will be shown free of charge on Saturday, March 9, 2013, from 1:30pm to 3pm, at the Bangor Public Library Lecture Hall, 145 Harlow Street.
Park Avenue is a film by the Academy Award-winning director Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room). It presents his examination of the starkness of the gap between rich and poor Americans, as illustrated by this famous boulevard in New York City. One building on Park Avenue is home to the highest concentration of billionaires in America. Less than five miles down the same street is America’s poorest congressional district.
