Shenna Bellows, former Exec. Director of Maine ACLU and current candidate for US Senate, 2nd District Maine, will be present and has been invited to speak.
Also… Maine residents will have the opportunity to sign petitions for the We The People Maine campaign (Corporations are not people! Money is not speech!); please check out the table and petitions provided by Alliance for Democracy Downeast.
Barbara Bates Smith production of “Go Granny D!” — Sunday April 6, 7pm, in Emlen Hall (Bay School), Blue Hill.
The Bay School is located 1/4 mi. south of the Tradewinds Marketplace on South Street.
The one-woman performance, accompanied by musician Jeff Sebens, will be introduced by Robert Shetterly of Americans Who Tell the Truth.
Rob will have with him his portrait of Granny D.
The event is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. Thanks to the generosity of the artists, proceeds will be offered to local organizations who provide fuel and food assistance in our community (BH peninsula and Deer Isle). The evening is co-sponsored by Alliance for Democracy, Americans Who Tell the Truth, Island Peace & Justice, Maine AllCare and Peninsula Peace & Justice. Refreshments will be served. info 374-3636.
