Hasta siempre!
We are off to Texas, Mexico, and Cuba. The US-Cuba Friendshipment
caravan will attempt to cross into Mexico on July 21st. And we will
attempt to re-enter the US on August 3 at the Texas/Mexico border. We
have an alert system for supporters and will send out email alerts if
we are not able to get through. The messages will come from Pastors
for Peace and will be forwarded far and wide so that people can help
by making calls to Congress.
In the past, it has often been these calls that has made the
difference. We are all going to be there on the border, but we may
need to rely on friends around the country to help by getting the
message through to Washington.
It's time to end the blockade against Cuba. It;s time to stop using
food and medicine as weapons to control another country. It's time to
end travel restrictions. It is time to establish normal, respectful
relations with our neighbors. President Castro has repeatedly called
for talks with the US administration. President Obama has said that
he wants to be open to dialogue. Let's help him make that happen.

Thank you for your support of people-to-people foreign policy. --

"A better world is possible. But, that better world will not come if
we lose heart, if we lose faith, if we don't put our prayers into
action. Just praying, just wishing, just hoping, is not enough. We
have to fight for justice. We fight with love. We fight with hope.
And we must be determined in that, and persistent in that struggle."
