Saturday, May 22, 6-9PM. A fundraiser for the Common Good Soup Kitchen. This will help support the continuing production of soup for distribution which is ongoing every week now and will be all summer. We will also at this event present our summer plans for the cafe operation in greater detail, and unveil our new "book nook" for literature relevant to our mission and philosophy. In line with this we will take advance orders for the forthcoming publication from North Atlantic Books: "Cooking for the Common Good:The Birth of a Natural Food Soup Kitchen" , by Larry Stettner and Bill Morrison, which is expected to be available in mid June of this year, 2010. Learn the inside story how the soup kitchen came to be, and learn form a master chef about the approach to food that underlies it and how to be creative in your own kitchen.
Great food, great music and a great time had by all will of course be present as usual. Still further you will all have a chance to meet and get our new intern from the College of the Atlantic, Mr. Eli Mellen who will be working with and for the Common Good full time this spring and summer.

Friday, May 28, 8:30 am-7PM. The opening of the common good cafe for full time business operation. Hearty Healthy breakfast bar with baked goods in the morning, Buffet and counter service lunch with Soups, Salads , Wraps and more for lunch, fresh baked pizza with specialty toppings featuring local food sources from 3-7PM.
