Citizen Power: Lobbying Congress for Climate Change Legislation

On Friday September 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Blue Hill Public Library, Peninsula Peace & Justice will welcome Philip Osgood to talk and lead discussion about how citizens can become part of the solution to the looming challenges of climate change by advocating and lobbying for effective legislation.

A resident of Brooksville, Philip will draw on his personal experience this year traveling to Washington, D.C., as a volunteer working with Citizens Climate Lobby, a national grassroots organization working towards nonpartisan climate change solutions. He will also describe proposals for mitigating the effects of increased levels of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, including current and pending federal legislation.

All are welcome. Refreshments will be served. For more information: 374 2357.
