This World Humanitarian Day make your selfie count.
World Humanitarian Day 2018 is nearly upon us. And we need your help.
Last year, by signing the #NotATarget petition, you stood in solidarity with people affected by war and conflict. You and over 2 million other people took positive actions, calling on world leaders to do more to protect civilians caught in conflict.
This year, we need you to do the same.
This World Humanitarian Day, we continue to recognize the suffering of millions of civilians caught in conflict. People in cities and towns struggle to find food, water and safe shelter, while fighting drives millions of people from their homes. Schools are destroyed, children are being recruited and forced to fight, and women are being abused and used as tools of war. As humanitarian workers deliver aid and medical workers help the wounded and sick, they are directly targeted, treated as threats, and prevented from bringing relief and care to people in desperate need.
We must keep putting pressure on Governments and world leaders to stop the senseless killing and displacement of families, children, aid workers and medical workers.
Here’s how you can help.
Today, we ask you to join the #NotATarget movement by taking a selfie and posting it to the first-ever living petition. Your selfie will become part of an installation hosting thousands of faces demanding that world leaders do everything in their power to protect civilians trapped in conflicts.
Written petitions are easy to evade, numbers are impersonal, but your face is not.
All it takes is a single click and your selfie will be added to the living petition that will be delivered to world leaders at next month’s General Assembly.
Sign the petition with a selfie today!
